Those who have been admitted are known to have a high level of legal knowledge, far superiror to others within the nation. Along with the membership and title, members of the Supreme Court Bar are provided the following privileges:
* Permitted to file amicus briefs in ongoing cases in the Supreme Court.
* Authorized to represent parties in cases before the Supreme Court (the Attorney General and Solicitor General are admitted autonomously for this reason).
* Allowed to practice in any court in the United States.
Although there are significant benefits affixed to being a member of the bar, there are also serious repercussions fo rmisconduct. Being disbarred from the Bar of the Supreme Court also disqualifies you from practicing in the lower courts.
